Define chikungunya fever

Chikungunya fever is a viral disease transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.Mosquito infection never happens of its own. We the people cause the mosquito infection to happen. Though we care a lot about the internal atmosphere of our house but we often neglect the external atmosphere of our house. The old vehicle tyres which are of no use we often dump it in the back yard. We love to keep a garden but never clean it. In simplest word the dumping water is the breeding ground for the infected mosquitoes.

The incubation period (time from infection to illness) -2 DAYS TO 1 WEEK

Symptoms - Fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, weakness, muscle cramp, rash, and joint pain. No deaths have been documented so far.

Vectors- Aedes aegypti (the yellow fever mosquito), a household container breeder and aggressive daytime biter Aedes albopictus (the Asian tiger mosquito)

Treatment

Homoeopathic Treatment is symptomatic. Medicines can be

Gels- if chill starts in back bone.thirstless

Arsenic alb- if the infection has come from the other persons staying with you.

Chin.ars-excessive chill with excess thirst

Chin sulph- excessive chill with no prominent thirst

Doses-3 pills 4 times a day.

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE- EUPATORIUM PERFOLIATUM 30

3 PILLS THRICE DAILY FOR 5 DAYS

Management- Rest, fluids, and prevention from mosquito bite(the best low cost way is to keep a mosquito net in bed).

Prevention-

Stay indoor-it will prevent the further damage to the infected person.

Use mosquito net- The low cost and chemical free way to avoid mosquito bite.

Use insect repellent- but better look into the chemical composition before using it.

Use long sleeves and pants- it will prevent the mosquito bite when you are in study table or in any sitting posture

Don’t keep standing water in flower pot, uncovered buckets etc. - better dispose it if the things are not in use it may be recycle and help the nature and environment.
